To all actors interested in auditioning...
A Few Things.
Auditions are JANUARY 17th and will take place from 4pm-7pm at the COMPLEX THEATER in the Villa.
The Address is
6476 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038
Auditions will require actors to read sides and possibly perform a musical number depending on character. Each actor will be assigned a five minute slot. Please arrive early, and expect to possibly be asked to stick around a few minutes longer in case we may need more time for auditions. IF THERE IS A SPECIFIC time you cannot be at the auditions, please let us know ASAP, so we can schedule your slot for a working time for you. Please don't ask for a convenient time, but instead let us know what does not absolutely work for you.
UNION ACTORS: Union actors are welcome to audition. If cast, we will work out a New Media contract with SAG, but actors MUST accept a deferred payment. IF we are interested in casting a union actor, we will work out contract/deferment options after casting.
We will not be able to pay our actors-- deferment contracts will be worked out with Union actors if cast. Also, we can talk about possible deferred compensation for non union actors if cast in series. But we are willing to cut reels for our actors for their work.
WHAT IS THE HIP AND THE STERNUM?
The Hip and the Sternum is a mockumentary style web series. The series is an over the top comedy, requiring actors with a great comedic touch and some musical talents. The series is Rated R, and actors should feel comfortable with making jokes about sex, bodily functions, bathroom humor, and willing to play characters involved in drug use. This series will be published through Youtube and other video sites. The Web Series is produced by RoxxiStudios headed by Daniel Roxburgh and Destiney Haddox and written by Mark Anthony Smith of Caffeine High Productions. Original music will be written by Lindsey Whitener.
The Hip and the Sternum is a 20 page Web Series that will be broken into four parts, with possible music videos shot to add to the channel. After the series is shot, there is a possible larger scale production that may be shot over the Spring time.
CHARACTER AUDITION BREAKDOWNS
Luther Loveloss- is a well spoken, smooth talkin', very limited talent musician. He is a fun character who has good intentions, but makes bad decisions. An actor with a decent voice and basic guitar skills would be a plus.
STEVIE WYNN- an untalented musician with a love for the Hip and the Sternum. Stevie takes her passion for music a little too serious, and is more of a young, hip, female version of James Lipton. So feel free to have fun with her interviewing techniques.
Penny Givens- Penny is a hippy with a dirty mind, and lacks manners. Actresses will be asked to have some fun with this character. Musical talents would be a plus and a decent singing voice would be a major plus. PLEASE prepare a song for Penny, and we'd give the actress much more consideration.
Beyancha - Bianca, or Beyancha is more of an edgy character. Actress should have a strong singing voice and be comfortable with her sexuality, but at the same time willing to poke fun at her sexuality. Beyancha is a former addict and somewhat of a former nympho. So actress must be willing to push the envelope and have fun with this character's Rated R sense of humor and dialogue.
